Keep Us Covered Storytelling Workshop - Part Two: Tell Your Story Effectively!

  • Alaska Children's Trust and American Cancer Society 3201 C Street, Suite 110 Anchorage, AK 99503 (map)

As Congress considers whether or not to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, it is critically important that lawmakers maintain the patient protections that have benefitted cancer patients, survivors, and others.

You are invited to our final workshop, where you will learn tips on how to tell your story of how you or people you care about have benefitted from these patient protections. We will demonstrate how these stories will make the difference in the future of our healthcare system.

This workshop is for people who want to share and tell their story about how they, or people they care about, have benefitted from any of these or other patient protections in the Affordable Care Act:

- Elimination of pre-existing condition limits
- Elimination of lifetime/annual caps
- Received subsidies through the exchange
- Received a diagnosis after a preventative screening
- Increased affordability of health care coverage through the exchange or Medicaid expansion

At this workshop, you will learn how to identify what part of your story is most important to you, and how to share that story effectively in different scenarios. By the end of the workshop, you will have learned some tips on how you can share your story and have a recorded version that you can use to share with others.

The more people who share their stories, the more powerful our voices can be in this important conversation.
